DESCRIPTION

The Hertex Pemba Wallpaper captures the feeling of a wall that’s been built up slowly over time rather than decorated all at once. Inspired by painted concrete and weathered surfaces, broad vertical brushstrokes create soft layers of movement that feel artistic, relaxed and beautifully understated.

The surface has the appearance of hand-applied limewash or masonry paint, with overlapping brushstrokes drifting across a softly textured concrete-inspired backdrop. Rather than relying on strong pattern, the repeated painterly marks create gentle rhythm and depth that become more noticeable as natural light moves through the room.

The Salt Pan colourway blends warm grey-beige, soft cream and quiet mineral tones, making it an effortless companion to limestone, pale oak, linen, travertine and natural fibres. It works particularly well in living rooms, bedrooms, entrance halls and boutique-inspired interiors where the walls contribute atmosphere without competing with the rest of the room.

Curated by Hertex as part of the Zanzibar Collection, this Belgian-designed wallpaper combines thoughtful craftsmanship with practical everyday performance. The vinyl surface is extra washable and durable, while the non-woven backing allows for straightforward paste-the-wall installation and strippable removal when it’s time to redecorate.

La Muur Notes:

What we found most interesting about Pemba is that it feels closer to a painted finish than a conventional concrete wallpaper. From across the room, the layered brushstrokes soften into a beautifully weathered surface. It’s only as you move closer that the individual painterly marks begin to reveal themselves.

In South African daylight, the overlapping tones create subtle shifts across the wall, giving the impression of a finish that’s been applied by hand rather than printed.
