DESCRIPTION

The Hertex Reef Wallpaper captures everything people love about traditional grasscloth while offering the durability and ease of a modern vinyl wallcovering. Inspired by tightly woven natural fibres, it creates a beautifully relaxed backdrop that feels timeless rather than trend-driven.

The woven structure follows the familiar horizontal rhythm of classic grasscloth, while finer vertical strands create subtle intersections that give the surface convincing depth. Varied strand widths and softly irregular woven details preserve the natural character of the design, even though the surface itself remains smooth to the touch.

Sunset brings together warm rust, Roman brick and earthy ochre tones to create a grasscloth that feels quietly confident rather than overpowering. The woven fibres soften the richness of the colour, allowing it to feel naturally weathered instead of heavily saturated. It pairs beautifully with walnut, terracotta, travertine, leather and warm neutral interiors where natural textures take centre stage. The result is a room that feels welcoming, layered and full of gentle warmth.

Curated by Hertex as part of the Zanzibar Collection, this Belgian-designed and manufactured wallpaper combines beautifully considered design with practical everyday performance. The vinyl surface is extra washable and durable, while the non-woven backing allows for straightforward paste-the-wall installation and clean strippable removal.

La Muur Notes:

This is probably the most convincing classic grasscloth in the Zanzibar Collection. From across the room it has the neutral, calm, horizontal character you’d expect from woven natural fibres, while up close the changing strand widths and softly irregular intersections make it feel surprisingly authentic.

One of the things we particularly appreciate is that it brings the warmth of grasscloth without the fragility of the real material. It creates the same relaxed atmosphere while being much easier to live with in everyday spaces.

Installation

Paste-the-wall application.
No booking required.
Panels hang dry and remove cleanly when needed.

Grasscloth-inspired wallpapers are not intended to create a seamless pattern across adjoining panels. Follow the manufacturer’s specified pattern match for the best result.

Grasscloth: What to Expect

These designs deliberately recreate the irregular character of natural grasscloth. The woven effect is intended to be appreciated as a series of individual panels rather than as one completely seamless surface.

Panel Variation
Subtle differences in colour and tone may occur between strips. These variations are part of the natural appearance the design is designed to replicate.

Visible Seams
Unlike many printed wallpapers, the joins between panels may remain visible. This is characteristic of grasscloth-inspired designs and contributes to their authentic woven appearance.

Installation Precision
Careful hanging is particularly important. Your installer should position each panel thoughtfully so that the finished wall feels balanced and intentional.

Installation Method
Some grasscloth-inspired wallpapers are designed to be installed with alternate strips reversed, while others require a straight pattern match. Always follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for the specific design.

Wall Preparation

Walls should be smooth, clean, dry and properly primed.
The heavier-weight construction of this wallpaper can help soften the appearance of minor wall imperfections, but proper wall preparation remains important for the best finish.

Bathroom Suitability

Suitable for bathrooms with good ventilation.
Avoid direct and repeated water contact.
